Plastic Signs
In Germany, the identification marking of valves in pipeline networks for various different liquids and gases is subject to DIN standards. These regulate the dimensions, the colour, the inscription and the abbreviations. The FP sign types in the standard range have been designed in accordance with the corresponding DIN standards. In addition, a wide variety of other sign types enable municipalities, public utilities and power supply companies to carry out all kinds of identification marking. Various fastening solutions and wide-ranging service and support round off the Franken Plastik offering.
The System
FP indicator signs, made of ASA, provide unambiguous and easily-understandable identification marking in a coordinate system, displaying the exact location of buried pipelines, cables, underground hydrants, hatches and valves. Various additional fields indicate what kind of valve or installation is involved, which consecutive number it has or who has to be notified in case of danger. Extensive information in a concise form – really “pointing the way – right from the start”.
Carefully Considered Fastening Options
FP fastening technologies excel by providing a wide variety of practical solutions. The following fastening options are available:

- Fastening to an FP screw-fixing channel post with plastic combi-plate (ASA)
- Fastening to poles with steel strap
- Fastening to smooth posts with polyamide clamp set

DIN Standards and Special Signs
In Germany, the identification marking of valves in pipelines is subject to the corresponding DIN standards. These regulate the dimensions, the colour, the inscription and the abbreviations. Basically, a distinction is made between long-distance connections (form A), local connection (form B) and house connections (form C). There are some possible options for identification marking to meet particular requirements, and these can be decided upon by the network operator. Some such options are available in the FP programme, whilst others are available on demand. All FP indicator signs in accordance with DIN standards are equipped with snap-in studs and self-fixing inserts. The T-bars, commas and red frames of the hydrant signs are injection moulded and, therefore, coloured through.

Secure Fixing is Assured
Our patented self-fixing system and snap-in studs, in combination with the unequalled quality of the coloured-through sign elements, mean that our signs are easy to handle and highly resistant to weathering and UV light. This quality is backed up by the FP range of fastening options in accordance with customer specifications.
Self-Fixing – The letter and numeral inserts just have to be clipped in, then they are securely positioned and, therefore, tamper-proof. This is facilitated by the special profile design and resulting tight interlocking of the indicator sign and the insert.
Profile Design – The insert and the FP indicator sign tightly interlock.
Coloured-Through – Even if the sign is scratched, the information will not be destroyed.
Snap-In Studs – Snapping the signs into place instead of using screws saves money and time, and the result is equally as secure and robust. The signs are simply snapped into a backing plate, a fixing plate or a combi-plate.
Material – ASA is highly impact resistant, non-fading and UV resistant, as well as being fully recyclable and temperature resistant from -40°C to +100°C.
